KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a biography of Gabriel Richard, a Sulpician priest who enjo the distinction of being the first (and only) Catholic priest over elected to Congress. Father Richard's story throws some light on rather interesting of early nineteenth century American and American Catholic history but, unfortunately, Sister Dolorita's approach is too tive and too biased in her favor for the book to have much use other than as , if not particularly piring, reading.
