CANTICLE FOR THE HARVEST by Sister Mary Hester

CANTICLE FOR THE HARVEST

By

Publisher: P. J. Kenedy

A collection of anecdotes concerning the work of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in the United States over the past one hundred years. There are tales of the difficulties, trials and triumphs of the Sisters who were called upon to establish Catholic schools in outlying sections of the country. For the most part they tell of Sisters who worked in Wisconsin among the German and Polish immigrant groups in the latter part of the nineteenth century. The tales reveal the devotion, bravery, self sacrifice and saving sense of humor of the sisters. It is a book which will appeal to members of the religious orders of the Catholic Church but scarcely to a wider group of readers.
