In large print and simple terminology, youngsters are taught how money has changed through the centuries from the ""time of no money"" through early bartering, the first coins and modern banking. How trading was used among the Indians, when the first coins came into existence, how the ancients organized their finances, how money appeared in Colonial America, sum up a brief history of this vital form of exchange. Several chapters dealing with the making of coins and the printing of paper money explain the basis of our present-day economy. Well written, this should stimulate interest in a matter this age group takes totally for granted, in more ways than one.
