KIRKUS REVIEW

Just another story of the American Revolution, this one is about a young passenger named Sam Wilson. The last chapter which describes how the ""tall giant of Uncle Sam with his inquiring smile beneath a high top hat, tight-fitting trousers and cutaway coat"" emerged as a national symbol from Sam Wilson, distinguishes the story, but does not compensate for the bland, monotonous sentences which make up the chapters.
