MY VILLAGE IN HUNGARY

Young Zoltan Sardi's ebullient first person introduction to his home village weaves nationalist pride, historical anecdote and praise for the benefits of the local cooperative into such more immediate concerns as feeding the pigs, playing the zither at a Pioneer group rehearsal and searching for the town's missing mascot, the stork Kele. Though obviously a structured blend of rising material prosperity and traditional agricultural ways, this is packed with folksy wit, authentic-sounding conversation and attractive candid photos in the same informal style that have made previous Village visits so successful.
