WINGS ON MY FEET

This book serves a two-fold purpose -- it is at one and the same time, an autobiography of the dancer-actress-skater and a manual on skating. Sonja Henie was an ardent skater at six, Norway's champion at nine; at thirteen she won the Olympic title. After her career was definitely established, she studied dancing, believing it a correlative art. Years of strenuous work and travel, an international merry-go-round, including the winning of a third Olympic, she decided to turn professional, aimed for Hollywood, and learned to act. The second part of the book gives concise information on the technique of skating, from the selection of skates and costumes, to intricate figures. The whole reflects a modest, enthusiastic girl.
