THE MAN WHO KNEW THE DATE

No frills, but a few flounces, for the story of Dick Lovett, who fell in love with Cara, married, impossibly indulged and appealingly evasive, while he neglects the more candid, comfortable charms of Lizzie. Unsettled by Cara, he is even more unsettled when he finds that a certain power of precognition enables him to know the date when certain people will die. And as this experience occurs again and again, he confides in Cara who drops him quickly, leaves him to Lizzie who dispels his sixth sense and shows her faith and love for him... Definitely dressy, this moves through circles which are very upper class, cuisine which is haute and fondly detailed, but is eligible chiefly for rent.
