RUSSIA THROUGH THE AGES

A solid job -- the complete antithesis of the Gerhardi book! Straight historical record, in somewhat text booky style and form. It carries the story from the pre-Slavic period to the Polish occupation in September, 1939. The pact with Germany is presented as part of the picture, with little interpretation or comment, though he draws the parallel between the methods of the new Russia and the old Muscovite empire, attributing the similarities to the fact that the people are conditioned to autocracy. This might be called -- ""Russia Turns the Clock Back"".
