THE DISCOVERY OF MAN: The Story of the Inquiry Into Human Origins

This book not only reveals the history of what we know so far about the beginnings of man, but is also the story of the development of our attitudes and techniques in relation to this subject. The author reveals the hampering prejudice of religion and the opposition to a scientific approach. He enlivens the tale by linking the advance with the men who made epoch-making discoveries. In spite of the fanfare of advance critical commentary, we cannot see it as a book for a wide general market, but rather for intellectuals with a scientific bent.
