ENCOUNTER DARKNESS

Encounter is a mild word--you are clobbered with casualties and catastrophies when Caralyn (sic) goes to the off island home of her new husband (in Vietnam) to her mother-in-law (she talks to her dead husband) her brothers-in-law (one a lush, one a chaser) to a bedridden pilot who had manned the plane in which her father-in-law crashed to his death and to the corpse (she discovers) of his successor. It ends literally with a flying finish with our girl at the controls--more than can be said of its author.
