KIRKUS REVIEW

The story of Amerigo Vespucci, and of how America was named. An unravelling of sources of information and misinformation, neatly fitted into place to show how a succession of minor accidents resulted in pinning the glory of continent on a comparatively unimportant explorer. An odd bit of erudition, which may well become a standard work, correcting the misinformation which has found its way into history.
