Along with discussions of the concept of the critical reader, there is a plea for reading with ""intelligent delight"" and passages from many well known writers which the author analyzes with the reader forming a well organized working textbook in the process. Various kinds of writing, grasping sentences and technical structures, the relative importance of large vocabularies and rapid reading- are a few more of the considerations.
