KIRKUS REVIEW

The youngest daughter of the king who attests that her love for her father is greater than her love for salt is expectably banished-and expectably excused when he discovers through deprivation that salt is better than gold. This Czech variant is indeed told without salt, and the decorative illustrations have no flavor either.
