GHOST TRAIN: A Spooky Hologram Book

A slight, trite tale about a trio of spooks--""Headless Hector, the Gray Lady, and I, the Silver Skeleton""--provides a vehicle for some intriguingly effective holograms. The ghosts do their job at Ravenswick castle too well: after 400 years, its live inhabitants flee, leaving them out of a job. After wandering a bit, they settle in an amusement park, thus retrieving the fortunes of a ""Ghost Train."" Lee's double-spread illustrations are skillfully done--authentic details of costume and architecture, humorously broad characterizations, slightly garish colors--but the real attraction here is six evanescent insets (plus three on the cover) that can be made to move and change color and are quite satisfyingly eerie. A curiosity, guaranteed to grab attention.
