When the Business Improvement Committee of the Chamber of Commerce decides that it must do something to lure tourists to their town of Wonderful, Colo., and that Ute Indians should be imported to give local color, it does not realize what is in store. A geology class from an Eastern girls' college, under the competent shepherding of Miss Cowgill, comes to stay at one of the motels and the nine Utes, distributed around in various jobs, team up with the girls to put on an outdoor show, Perils of the West, whose first performance winds up in a public brawl and publicity that makes the town a tourist trap. Through all of this the citizens of Wonderful are affected by the happenings and are often divided about the total result. The farce here is horsey and the action rowdyish and publicity per se goes in for a big spoof. Not for those looking for culture.
