THAT MAKES ME MAD!

Despite Knight's cliched interpretations and the low-budget look of the whole, Kroll's childrenese is bound to hit home. Besides such obvious complaints as ""when I need to stay up late and it's always my bedtime, that makes me mad,"" Kroll remembers that kids get mad ""when you tell me I like something you know I don't,"" ""when you talk about me like I'm not even there,"" and when ""I change my mind too late."" Each of thirteen mad-making situations is particularized in a one-page comic strip sequence, and at the end Kroll (perhaps as a hint for parents, as it's otherwise superfluous) articulates the therapeutic point of it all: ""But it makes me feel better when you let me tell you how angry I am."" You might even hear the steam escaping.
