KIRKUS REVIEW

Miss Sewell has chosen the best known and beloved stories from Bulfinch's Age of Fable and has illustrated them in a style typical of the early Greeks, because she believes that they should be done in this manner at least once. There are 11 full-page illustrations and 30 line drawings. Obviously this book of myths is for older children and adults. Last year we enjoyed Sally Benson's Stories of the Gods and Heroes illustrated by Steele Savage and published by Dial but surely there is room for more good volumes of mythology.
