A topnotch journalist contributes his record of the exploits of American heroes in the war so far. Most of the names and incidents are familiar to newspaper readers -- Lieutenant Bulkley, Colin Kelly, Lieutenant Wheless, the voyage of the Marblehead, Harry Olson's trip on a life raft, Captain Wermuth's ""one man war"" on Batn, A lively, spirited, breezy and almost fictional style which brings men and incidents alive. He has drawn his material from official sources, from interviews wherever possible, and the result should find a ready market if it does not get sidetracked because of already existing and fuller accounts of the same men and same deeds. An encouraging book to read.
