RICH LAND, POOR LAND by Stuart Chase Kirkus Star

RICH LAND, POOR LAND

By

Publisher: Whittlesey

Graphic account of a flying trip investigating drought and flood conditions, and projects under way to offset them and prevent -- eventually -- their recurrence. Thoughtful study of the vast riches our country offered and of the ruthless waste. Presentation of possible means of handling the situation, with discussion of projects already started, such as the Tennessee Valley project. Points out need of centralization through government agencies. A challenging book, with Chase's usual force and clarity.
