KIRKUS REVIEW

A routine lay 'em and leave 'em job about an itinerant tree-trimmer (who has known better days) temporarily working in Stoner, Iowa. He tries unsuccessfully to seduce his landlady's daughter, and is used, also unsuccessfully, by a rich and beautiful woman to secure an heir so that when her husband succumbs to his heart trouble, she will inherit his money. In addition, our tree-trimmer has a phobia about monkeys, and there's a pointless robbery and a good deal of fuss about collecting back pay from his chief.... Sex is the artificial food for what is otherwise a forced growth.
