NEW YORK, NEW YORK by Stuart Hawkins

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

By

Publisher: Wilfred Funk

In time for New York City's summer festival and oncoming visitors this will give up-to-date information on all the possibilities of where to, what to, how to, with a close eye on the budget. There's enough of the city's history and background to set up a knowledgeable approach; there is enough discussion of where to stay and eat so that the trip can be tailored to the person; the top ten sights to see are described and buildings, churches, colleges, historic houses, housing projects, memorials and monuments, museums and music centers, parks, parkways and drives follow for special interests (with instructions on ways in reaching them). The next section gives area tours from downtown heading up and a final portion of the book is devoted to a possible coverage in a six-day stay. There are lists of various shopping districts, and the lists of hotels and eating places are arranged in groups by location (downtown, midtown, east and west, etc.) with prices indicated. For anyone who wants to plan and organize a visit which will get the best from the most (for the least, if necessary) this should prove most helpful.
