KIRKUS REVIEW

The controversial Dr. Berger finds himself running with the herd this month, with three different candidates (see Earle & Imrie, and the Kronhausens, below) promising to turn back your body clock and tell you how to live longer, look younger, feel better, and think smarter. Berger's entry, as his earlier best sellers would predict, is by far the snappiest of the three. If you can take his breathless optimism (and it seems to go with the genre), you'll sail through his quizzes ("Your Personal Youth Quotient Assessment"), short quotes, sample menus, and 22-point program for rejuvenating the skin, heart, bones, brain, immune system, and very cells of your being. The advice is generally sensible, if simplistic (most controversial will be the injectable "immune cocktail" borrowed from Dr. Robert Cathcart), but distinguished chiefly by Berger's brisk cheerleader's presentation.
