ROOK TAKES KNIGHT

Howard Rook fancies himself the knight protecting dear Deirdre, an ex-movie hopeful who manages to look sweetly sensational on or off screen. Deirdre is in deep as prime suspect for the murder of her husband, a sado-masochistic ""socialite sportsman and civic figure."" But she seems to have other protectors. . . . A dated Hollywood ooo-dunnit. . . (""daddyo"" went out with the Blackboard Jungle) and at one point ""Rook was beginning to feel that he had been caught in an episode of Peyton Place or some other TV soap opera."" Check!. . . mate.
