A delicate, sensitive piece about a ""too-little"" girl and how she joined the rest of the chickens by earning a library card of her own. Tiny Rosa Maldonado, was too little to train pigeons from the roof with her brother Antonio, too little to jump rope with big sister Margarita, but saddest of all too little to join the library and sign her name in the library's big book. But Rosa and her mother had a plan and at the end of the summer Rosa printed her name in grown up style and walked home with her very own books.
