TOBIAS AND HIS BIG RED SATCHEL

Author-illustrator presents a whimsical farce in rhyme in which Tobias explains to a complaining mother why a crowbar, a saw, a hammer and nails, a shovel and various other sundries are indispensable to his satchel collection. Happening upon the scene at the right moment, Tobias throws his rope to a group of explorers marooned on a sinking iceberg and employs his trusty shovel in digging out a stranded whale from a sandbar. Humor increases with each impossibly exaggerated event. The most appreciative audience will be found among 6 to 8 year olds, although a slightly younger age group will enjoy the large frolicsome illustrations.
