KIRKUS REVIEW

A nice love runs some nasty interference in a New York City setting as young Cathy Peyton goes after Austin, the man she has chosen. Connecticut parents keep an over-watchful eye, worried that Cathy's behavior and reputation will spoil her father's big promotion chance. Follow boarders with unclean escutcheons also cast gimlet glances as Cathy and Austin's courtship proceeds. After much suspicion and refusal to meet Austin, the Peytons accept him sight unseen as Austin's employer testifies to his quality. The theme of respectability as admission price to a weary business world versus the individual choice on other lines is dandled along with the love interest. Pleasant pastime.
