All who discovered Cathedral Close will welcome this new book. And it is just as good, and perhaps closer to the common denominator of American-British interest. A story involving the underground politics of a college town, where bitterness and jealousy poison the life of the vice principal who thought that his record entitled him to the place given a younger man as principal. He plots and schemes, underground -- and eventually becomes involved in suspicion of scandal on a land purchase. Quiet -- nicely done -- and Miss Goodyear is never dull, even when dealing with dull characters.
