Mother decides J.P.'s sacrificing fresh air and exercise for the books he's always reading, so she sends her reluctant son (""This is silly"") into the great outdoors. But by the time he's accidentally broken a window, dug up flower bulbs, and soaked himself, she's had quite enough and sends him back up to his room and his books. Kids old enough for an anti-reading mother are too old for this format, and the irony of the joke on mother will pass a younger audience by. Chorao's soft, realistic pencil drawings are equally out of synch.
