THE BEARS WHO WENT TO THE SEASIDE

Five toylike bears -- each a different bright color but otherwise indistinguishable in looks and personality -- pack up their beach ball, tent and dalmatian and drive off for an overnight outing at the beach. But as there is no plot or suspense or surprise in all their day and a half of snorkeling, fishing, eating, building sandcastles, etc., or any attempt to vary either the blandly straight-faced tone of the telling or the color-saturated tone of the pictures, we don't see much point in going along.
