NO SECOND SPRING

Volatile, pleasing light novel, for all that it is a trifle unreal -- a story of the irresponsible, talented and charming Dudleys, a family of failures and follies. Primarily it is the story of Cyntra, eldest daughter, and her turbulent love for a violinist, Eichenhorn, brilliant musically, worthless otherwise, who throws over her love twice, -- for money, for ambition. Finally, she marries -- and finds, with the coming of a child, that her marriage has proved better than a second spring. A woman's novel, nice of its kind, for recreational relaxation -- but not straight ""pop"".
