That the Bible is the inspired and inspiring record of God's purpose for man has ever been the conviction of those who led the Protestant Reformation and those who find their spiritual home in the Protestant Church. But the Biblical faith that once kindled a flame in the lives of men has somehow ceased to serve this primary function, due in large measure to the rise of critical Biblical study not easily understood by the average layman. There is need therefore for such a book as this which presents the story and message of the Bible consistently, cogently, and urgently, making the most of modern understanding without depriving the Bible of the opportunity to speak for itself. Miss Suzanne de Dietrich, an outstanding lay theologian of Europe, tells in a fascinating and readable way how God has called his people out of the world that they may be sent as his messengers into the world and she relates the Biblical theme to the church of today in compelling fashion. Mature Protestant Christians will rejoice in this book. Tell them about it.
