A once over, very lightly, of the lures and illusions of boating carries the Hoffs from small to larger motor boats, to skiing, skin diving, salling and houseboating. At first uninterested and scoffing, they succumb, swallow the whole advertising lexicon, are confronted by hard working salesmen and, as novices, create the usual panic on their first go-round. With exposure to rules and regulations their seamanship improves, until sallboating brings whole new areas of learning to be mastered, and finally a houseboat is the promise for the future. Here, with all the advertising slogans and copy, with a running inclusion of instructions, and a whole hearted delight in punning, is a slaphappy look at ""fun aflost"" that will be welcomed aboard by the nautical fraternity. There will be cartoons by the author.
