A swamp dweller by nature, this large, likable snake is evicted when his rescue efforts deprive the local alligators of a good meal. His movements in the city win friends (and don't cause a single panic) but he wants something with a future. Another rescue (substituting for a bridge cable) improves his bargaining position but he opts for the swamp ""and the alligators only hoped that hereafter if more people got stuck in the mud, Slithers would mind his business."" A red-spotted yellow snake as natural nice guy in a small scale spoof, with typical Hoff cartoons to make light of the moral.
