THE BIG BOOK OF COWBOYS by Sydney E. Fletcher

THE BIG BOOK OF COWBOYS

By

Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap

Buckin' broncos, cowboys dashing across the plains, ropin' and brandin' -- all in splashy four color illustrations by the author- pace this big, big book. Much more successful than the Big Book of Fire Engines, which had eye appeal, but an over-technical text, this collection of yippee-yi is a ""must"" addition to cowboy paraphernalia. The text, all about the activities, gear and traditions of the cowboy- is informative and at the same time sufficiently lucid and appropriately spiked with cowboy talk. Although the format may appeal to the younger age group, the text is more suitable for older children who really know their Western lore. The glossy cover with a cowboy pictured riding a bronoo is a spell binder. There should be heavy sales for this one.
