LEISURE FOR LIVING by Sydney Greenble

LEISURE FOR LIVING

By

Publisher: George W. Stewart

The author of the magazine Leisure explores the meaning and necessity of fun, as a release from routine, a safety valve; and the means to obtain it, warning of the hurdle of inertia and the uses of experimentation in routine, activity, solitude and hobbies. How to widen horizons, how to become a participant not an on-looker, how to be a good audience, how the man-of-the-house must reassume a dominant part in family matters, how leisure differs from slowness, how to turn half-living into full time enjoyment. Not up to Brande for definite practical suggestions and inspiration, but with a good philosophy behind it.
