From the director of the Sexual Therapy Clinic of San Antonio: an up-to-the-minute overview of sexual changes in the prime of life and how to handle them. Rosenthal supplies a fairly detailed description of how aging affects sexuality, along with the pros and cons of testesterone and estrogen replacement therapy. He follows with specific techniques on how men and women can help their partners overcome obstacles to a full sex life, and provides a particularly helpful discussion of medical problems that interfere with sex and what to do about them: these include arthritis, heart and cardiovascular conditions, prostrate conditions, and hysterectomy; and also medications that can produce impotence or decreased libido, such as tranquilizers, anti-depressants, ulcer therapy, etc. Also helpful is a rundown on the causes of impotence and its treatment--including the latest penile implant technologies. With the ""baby boom"" generation marching into its 40's, numerous writers (including the effervescent Dr. Ruth) have caroled the joys of autumnal sex, and have offered explicit advice on how to improve it. So what's new here? Basically, a brisk, no-nonsense approach that will appeal to souls turned off by florid paeans and upbeat anecdotes.
