David's career as a teacher has been wrecked by an oversight; he is jobless when he meets and marries Julie, whose heart is set on a stage career. Young, ambitious, egocentric and intractable, Julie is willing to accept David's self-effacement. And then she fails -- while David, as director, makes ""the big time"". She cannot take it and leaves him, but eventually he gives her her chance and she justifies his belief in her. Regenerative romance-stage background -- fair pulp.
