KIRKUS REVIEW

Psychologistics is the science (?) and art () of using your mind efficiently based on the principle of the Overmind, a supercomputer or attic which knows everything about you, and Mentalisman, a pendulum or ""hot line"" to it. Mr. Waters' Overmind is full of just about everything from William James to Star Trek along with a 17th century work by Stanislaus Mink yon Wenusheim. We plan to remember his name and there's a whole system of mnemonics along with other props -- tarot cards and incense cones and planchette. You can also learn to speed read, problem solve, analyze others and if you want to remember a book, just associate it with a cigar -- ""A large book is sitting in an easy chair; it has a face like a person's, and in the mouth is a huge cigar."" Yup -- a $7.95 book and a five cent cigar is just what this country needs.
