CHRISTIANITY AND WORLD ISSUES by T. B. Maston

CHRISTIANITY AND WORLD ISSUES

By

Publisher: Macmillan

Written as a textbook for use in theological seminaries and church-related colleges, this volume is an attempt to provide an introduction to the field of Christian social ethics and applied Christianity. An acquaintance with the social and ethical teachings of the Bible and basic Christian principles is assumed. Dr. Maston begins with a consideration of the general relation of the church to the world, and then moves on to a chapter on Christianity and the individual. The next chapter considers the family, the basic social unit, and then is succeeded by chapters on such world issues as race relations, economic life, communism, war, and the relation of Church and State. There is a chapter on the world crisis, and a concluding chapter on Christianity and the transformation of the world. Teaching aids and reference lists are provided at the end of the book, as well as ample footnotes in the body of the text. While this book is mostly useful for classroom teaching purposes, Protestant ministers may well find much help here of a coordinating and focusing nature.
