KIRKUS REVIEW

Skillful job of with brief introductory notes, for a volume giant modern library item -- not a , but done specifically for this purpose. The text includes Jefferson's Autobiography, written at 77; the Anes, -- notes which constitute a continuation of Autobiography from the second year as Secretary of State to the last year as president; memoranda of the struggle between Federalist and Republican parties, later revised to exclude inaccuracies and personalities; a selection of extracts from the Travel Journals, dealing with his trip to Southern France and Northern Italy and his guide for fellow Americans on what to see; Easey on instruction in dialects Biographical Sketches of famous men (Washington, Franklin, George Wythe); Notes on the State of Virginia done in the form of answers to queries; Public Papers selected for the permanence of their interest and historical flavor; and Letters.....With the publicity accorded the announcement of the complete Jefferson projected by the Princeton University Press as a memorial to Adolph Ochs, this should serve to wh the appetite.
