A persuasive volume that should recruit new ""weather lovers"" from the amateur ranks -- which explains and interprets the fundamentals of air wisdom. Stressing observation and remembrance as necessities for personal forecasting, describing the tools to be used, the author describes the villains and heroes of the air, clouds, wind, temperatures, rain, thundersterm, snow, fog, ice, hurricanes, the use of weather , elimate -- all presented in fresh, sometimes amusing manner. He stresses the need for wider weather knowledge with the coming of more general flying in the future. He makes his subject absorbing reading, and connoisseurs as well as novices will enjoy his completely unpedantic approach. Bibliography and glossary. Much of this material was included in his Reading the Weather, but it has been rewritten, expanded and brought up to date.
