BUS STOPS

From an award-winning Japanese illustrator, a very simple picture book. At a series of varied stops (beach, edge of town, fair, baseball field, junkyard), different people (artist, salesman, mechanic, nurse) get off; each time, the ""reader"" is also challenged to find another detail (a girl on a bicycle, a jogger, a horse). Using bold, flat areas of color in creative, harmonious combinations, Gomi evokes an attractive, clean-cut world that makes few references to its country of origin. With pleasing design and a multiplicity of details to discover, this variation on the game of ""I Spy"" is sure to please the youngest.
