Here is a collection of distinguished short stories for the young student of literature and for the general reader. Although the stories were chosen to illustrate points of story technique --point of view, authority, dramatic compression, dimension, tonal unity, symbolism, etc., the young person even if unable to cope with the academic accent, should enjoy the selection. Some contributors are not often included in anthologies, and many of the short stories have escaped previous notice. Excellent addition to the school libraries and for general school use.
