THE THINKING DOG'S MAN

These posthumously published, page long pieces by Holiday magazine's editor have an introduction by Steinbook (with a little more about charley). Anyway, this man's best friend is Peter, an Airedale, who closed doors when it was drafty. Then there's some scattered intelligence about canino perceptions, extrasensory and auditory, breeds, rabies, choosing a puppy and housebreaking him, training for special performance, viveotion, and a few fables.. Nothing dogmatic here, just a pleasant miscellany along with Thurberish illustrations by Roy McKie.
