THE LONG, LONG POLLUTION CRISIS (A Boys' Life Project Book)

From photosynthesis and the separate earth cycles (water, oxygen, carbon, etc) to ""Getting Involved"" -- a sort of galloping overview, complete with running quotes from leading environmentalists. Pettit's extremely abbreviated early paragraphs on the cycles tells little more than that they exist and certainly don't explain their workings and interrelatedness as does Helen Ross Russell in her admirable Earth the Great Recycler [KR, 1973). The rest of this is essentially an annotated checklist of pollution problems. Too superficial to be used as a resource on any one topic and too perfunctory in wording for a readable introduction, this is usable perhaps for quick reference or group review, or, for teachers, as a unit outline.
