Carr's latest anthology has a wacky originality that intrigues. Particularly attractive are Vance's apparently ingenuous Alice bemused by a metropolitan wonderland, Lafferty's mad but telling fantasy of historical ellipses, Panshin's gentle glimpse of what seems to be the coming of the millenium and Goulart's howlingly funny sketch of the perils of shopping on credit. Plus Silverberg's psychiatrist who literally loses his mind, Eklund and Benford's speaking stars and several others. Superior.
