AMERICAN MESSIAHS by The Unofficial Observer

Profiles of Long, Johnson, Coughlin, Townsend, Sinclair, La Guardia, La Fellette Olson, Reno, Graves, Wheeler, Talmadge and lesser Lights. Forerunners of American Fascism will have taken some of the cro off the market, but for concise descriptions of the men, their characters, aims and principles, this book is the better of the two. There's the same cryptic, half humorous, half serious method of etching his lines sharply that characterized The New Dealers, and the book is good reading and challenging at the same time. Not a book for a long haul, but the sudden right about face of the Washington situation makes it particularly timely and it should be easy selling and easy renting.
