KIRKUS REVIEW

In a faraway place/in a wide empty land/my house is a tent/ in the wind and the sand."" All of the verses are at this deadly level and none of the various sorts of houses in an international lineup of quaint dwellings that go from hots to stilt shacks are identified by country. Readers may be able to read it all by themselves, but they are likely to have to have adult help in guessing what it is they are reading about. Fat, flat, smiling children from all over the world decorate the cover and the pages. In two controlled words -- not good.
