KIRKUS REVIEW

Constance Grant, just divorced, is travelling with her cousin Miss Mattie in Ireland when they witness a murder in a castle on a lonely lake. While Constance finally gets away, Miss Mattie does not-- she disappears. Susan's attempt to enlist help, official and personal, from a young Irish playwright, fails; she is disbelieved; until finally Mattie's death notice brings her former husband on the run and together they dislodge Mattie and an East German cluster of subversives.... In spite of the foreign setting, very domesticated, with more quivers than shivers.
