KIRKUS REVIEW

Adventure, rather than mystery, this story of Adam, and his faithful Hugo, as they smuggle jewels into the U.S.A. illegally in order to rescue those in need in middle Europe, where both Adam and Hugo had served their time in concentration camps. The setting is West Coast Florida, from the Keys up to Boca Grand, and Adam's close escapes, the constant interchange of the jewels as rival operators stop at nothing to secure them, the intervention of an innocent pair, an aging conchologist and his daughter, make for romantic adventure in a rather dated tradition.
